Our collaborative study is published in PNAS!

Congratulations to the Shabek Lab, and especially to Angelica, for contributing to an exciting new collaborative study led by Caroline Gutjahr’s group (Max Planck). The work, “The GRAS protein RAM1 interacts with WRI transcription factors to regulate plant genes required for arbuscule development and function,” sheds light on key mechanisms driving symbiotic interactions in plants.

Our collaborative study is published in SCIENCE!!!

Congratulations to the Shabek Lab especially Malathy –  research with the labs of Yanran Li (UCSD), Dave Nelson (UCR) and Xiaonan Xie (Utsunomiya University, Tochigi, Japan) group now published in Science – more discoveries on Strigolactone signaling pathway: Evolution of interorganismal strigolactone biosynthesis in seed plants. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adp0779

Katherine received the Summer GSR Award & NIH T32 Award

Congratulations to Katherine Hand, our PhD student, for receiving the 2024 Summer Graduate Student Researcher Award! 🥇 This award supports graduate research in engineering, computer sciences, and disciplines with engineering-related applications and methods. Additionally, Katherine has been selected to receive the NIH eMCB T32 training grant! We are proud of you, Katherine. Well done!

Natalie received the 2022-23 Summer GSR Award!

Congratulations!!! Natalie Hamada has won the 2022-2023 Summer Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) Fellowship Award . Natalie will continue her PhD studies on the function of ubiquitin ligase in plant immunity, and will initiate the development of advanced integrated computational strategy to study protein-small molecule interactions using Virtual Reality tools.
