Our new research article is now published in <span class=\"s1\">Nature Communications<\/span>: <span class=\"s2\"><i>Salicylic Acid Modulates Its Catabolic Enzymes via Proteasomal Degradation Linked to SCF-Associated Proximity Networks<\/i><\/span> by <span class=\"s1\">Natalie Hamada<\/span>, <span class=\"s1\">Malathy Palayam<\/span>, <span class=\"s1\">Jacob Moe-Lange<\/span>,\u00a0 Sun Hyun Chang, collaborators, and <span class=\"s1\">Nitzan Shabek<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This study uncovers a new regulatory mechanism controlling the immune hormone salicylic acid (SA), a key signal that helps plants defend against pathogens while balancing growth. We show that SA directs the turnover of its own catabolic enzymes through the ubiquitin\u2013proteasome system, linking hormone perception to selective protein degradation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Using structural biology, biochemistry, and proximity-labeling approaches, we identified a new F-box protein, DAF1, and revealed dynamic remodeling of SCF ubiquitin ligase networks during infection.
